RigSketch privacy policy (draft)

RigSketch is a desktop and web drawing application made by RigSketch (rigsketch.org). This policy explains what the software does with your data. The short version: your drawings stay on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it.

What the application stores on your device

• Projects and autosave. Your drawings, project files and the automatic recovery snapshot are stored on your computer, either where you save them or in the application's local storage (the browser's IndexedDB in the web version; the app's WebView data folder in the desktop version).
• Your clip library. Animation files you add ("My clips") are stored locally in the same way.
• Preferences. Panel layout, brush presets, colours, keyboard shortcuts and whether you have seen the welcome screen are stored locally.
• Crash log. If the application hits an unexpected error, a short report (the error message, the application version, your browser or operating system version, and the size of the project: frame count, layer count, canvas size, rig name) is kept locally so you can copy it. It never contains your drawings.

None of this leaves your device on its own.

What the application sends

• Update checks (desktop version only). When you choose File → Check for updates, the desktop app requests a small manifest from rigsketch.org to learn whether a newer version exists. That request carries the usual connection information (your IP address, the time of the request, the app version). We do not use it for anything other than serving the file, and it is not linked to you.
• Crash reports, only if you opt in. About → Maintenance → Send anonymous crash reports is off by default. If you turn it on, the crash log described above is sent to rigsketch.org when an error occurs. It contains no drawings, no file names and no account information; there are no accounts.
• Nothing else. The application has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no telemetry.

Third parties

• Store platforms. If you buy RigSketch through Steam, itch.io or another store, that store's own privacy policy governs your purchase and account. We receive only what the store passes to sellers (typically aggregate sales figures).
• Mixamo and other asset sources. If you download animations from third-party sites to use in RigSketch, those sites' policies apply to those downloads. RigSketch does not contact them.

Children

RigSketch is a general-audience drawing tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

• Turn crash reporting on or off at any time in About → Maintenance.
• Delete local data by deleting your project files, using Reset settings in About, or clearing the application's storage (browser site data, or uninstalling the desktop app).
• Contact us at support@rigsketch.org with any question about this policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://rigsketch.org/privacy with a new effective date.
